Although the Roosevelt High School Alumni Association has existed through the years, organized activities and events in support of the school have become sparse. Through several conversations with RHS Principal, Henry Ronquillo, it became apparent there was a need to get the Alumni organized and involved in activities to benefit the school and the student body. Fred Santisteban, Class 66', spearheaded the movement to recruit and organize a group of Roosevelt Alumni to form the initial core of the RHS Alumni Foundation. During the initial phase of recruiting, organizing and writing by-laws, RHS alumnus, Ralph Shapiro, Esq. stepped forward to establish the Roosevelt High School scholarship trust fund within the California Community Foundation. Mr. Shapiro has generously contributed over $20,000 to the trust as a starting point for Roosevelt HS student scholarships, resources and academic projects. With the support and collaborative efforts of the RHS Alumni Foundation, Roosevelt HS, the community and the RHS Alumni at large we can continue to show that we are "Rough Riders 4 Life". We gladly welcome any alumni, friends, community members or business associates to join us in this exciting endeavor.
